Kenny Picciuto Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home on Jan. 25, 2023.
Kenneth Thomas Picciuto, 75, of West Haven, died suddenly and yet peacefully on January 23, 2023. Ken was born in Livingston, New Jersey. Son of the late Anthony and Margaret Picciuto. Loving brother of Lynn (Edward) Miglarese and the late Richard Picciuto. Ken left behind a very important person in his life, his nephew Mark Miglarese. Ken was an adoring father to Matthew Picciuto (predeceased), Elise (Cody) McGinnis and Alexa Picciuto.
Ken's love for dogs started when he was a young boy in elementary school. What first started off as a hobby volunteering at a local dog kennel, turned what was a passion into a profession. He was a well-known and well-respected dog trainer for over 50 years, having trained over 20,000 dogs. He adored his Doberman, Annie. She was his best friend and companion.
When Ken wasn't training dogs, he was counting down the days until hockey season. He was an avid New York Rangers Fan. He would always say "being a fan of the Rangers is a great and sorrowful endeavor." Despite this, he never missed a game. His fan favorite moment was when they won the Stanley Cup in 1994.
By far, his greatest love was that of his children. No matter their activity or milestone, he was always their #1 fan. After the death of his son Matthew Kenneth Picciuto in 2009, Ken was unable to get past the grief and longed for the day that he would be united with him again. May they both be together playing anything that requires a ball.
A funeral service will be held Friday morning at 10:00 in the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford, with burial to follow in Orange Center Cemetery, Orange. There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be offered in Ken's memory to Connecticut Children's Pediatric Intensive Care Unit in Hartford, CT.
