Larry J. Stoney, age 70, of Galion died Thursday March 21, 2024 at OSU Medical Center as a result of a hit and run accident while riding his dream motorcycle, a 2023 Harley Davidson Street Glide.
Born May 29, 1953 in Crestline, he was the son of the late William and Della (Rice) Stoney. He married the former Kathy Sherman on June 11, 1976. They enjoyed 47 years together and she survives.
Larry was a 1971 graduate of Pioneer Career Center. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Galion. He was a very hard worker and had worked 20 years for Gledhill Road Machinery before forming Stoney Hyd. in partnership with the Dexter Company. He enjoyed coon hunting, fishing, bowling, mowing, riding his motorcycle and spending time with his grandchildren and family.
In addition to his wife Kathy, he is survived by his two daughters: Amanda (Mike) Kronick and Emily Stoney, step daughter Kelly Sherman, grandchildren: Tyler Goodrich, Jordan Dotson, and Kendall Kronick, sisters Loretta (Bob) Cox, Delores Fogle and Rita, several nieces and nephews, and his special family at the Dexter Co., Kevin, Eric, Dan, Andy, Chris and Cecelia.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Joe Stoney and his little buddy Max.
The family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00PM Wednesday March 27, 2024 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday March 28, 2024 with Deacon Greg Kirk officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
The family requests that memorial contributions may be made in the form of blood donations to the American Red Cross.
