St. Charles, Missouri on Sunday, April 14, 2024.
Maurice was born April 26, 1946 in
St. Louis, Missouri. He was the fourth oldest of Edward and Margaret's nine children. Throughout his youth, Maurice was very active in sports, especially football. After attending high school at Mercy High in St. Louis County Maurice joined the Navy and served in Great Lakes, Illinois. He went on to get his Business Degree at the University of St. Louis Missouri after his honorable discharge from the Navy. During this time, Maurice took up Rugby and became an avid fan, player, and coach.
Through coaching, Maurice met and fell in love with his compassionate wife, Mary. They had four children: Shawn, Pete, Ed, and Jeff. The family moved to
St. Peters, Missouri when their children were in elementary school. Once there, the children attended catholic school at St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton in St. Charles Missouri. While they were in grade school, Maurice coached his son Peter's soccer teams and his sons Ed and Jeff's basketball teams. Maurice and Mary have been devout members of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church for over 40 years. Maurice took great pride in his faith and in his 46-year marriage to his irreplaceable wife, Mary. In his later years, Maurice enjoyed spending time with his three grandchildren: Carter, Patrick, and Maggie.
Maurice made sacrifices to help those he loved and even for people he just met. He raised his children to help those in need whenever possible and to never assume what another person has going on in their lives.
