Nettie Earnest Obituary
in Tallahassee Florida.
Nettie was born at the family home in Echols County, Georgia to Wallace and Myrtie
Hurst on March 16, 1935. She attended High School in Jennings, Florida and then
Florida State University. Nettie married Doyle H. Earnest on August 4, 1956.
Nettie worked for the State of Florida, retiring from the Florida Division of Retirement.
She attended Immanuel Baptist Church in Tallahassee.
Nettie is preceded in death by her parents, sister, Odessa Brock and infant sister,
Martha Kate Hurst.
Nettie is survived by her husband of 68 years, Doyle H. Earnest; two daughters, Robin
Garland (Marvin Garland), Donna Earnest; Son, Daniel Earnest;
Grandchildren include, Britt Kenworthy (Chris Kenworthy) and Kristen Garland;
Great Grandchild, Lucas Kenworthy; as well as a sister, Stella Maloy, and nieces
and nephews.
Pallbearers are: Ken Dickey, Dewitt English, Shawn Fassig, Derrick Brock, David Stokes and Jason Stewart.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 2:30pm to 3:30pm at Abbey Funeral

Funeral Services will be held at 3:30 pm, Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Abbey Funeral
Home with Rick Stewart officiating the service. Burial will follow at Tallahassee
Memory Gardens, with arrangements being made by Abbey Funeral Home.
