Ruby Manning Obituary
Throughout her life, she attained many accomplishments. LaVerne went to St. John's Catholic school during her elementary school days. She later attended Fort Smith Public Schools, Westark Community College (now UAFS) LPN School and continued achieving higher goals until she completed the Master's Degree in Nursing through affiliate schools.
She was employed at the Sebastian County Health Dept. for numerous years before traveling to Jefferson City, MO. All of her life she has cared for others in her very own unique way. LaVerne became a Mobile Nurse in Missouri to various Nursing Homes. Her tasks included many. She made sure the staff and facilities were following the required mandates by Federal regulations.
Before moving to Missouri, LaVerne was a diligent member of The First Missionary Baptist Church at 3110 Kelley Highway. She served in many capacities throughout her time there. She was an active member of the Adult Choir and the Usher Board.
She enjoyed reading and crocheting in her spare time.
Loved ones here to cherish her memories are her two sons: Loren Reese Manning (Fort Smith, AR) and Brenton Manning (Milwaukee, WI); a brother: Frank (Rose) Miller of Fort Smith, AR, and a host of relatives, friends, and classmates.
Celebration of life service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith, Arkansas with Pastor C. Alexander Harris officiating. Interment will be at Washington Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Kendall Johnson, Keenan Benton, Jr., Min, Doug Phillips, Loren Manning, John Andrews, and Joseph Woodard.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 10, 2024, at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
