Mr. Sean C. Hernan

Sean Christopher Hernan, 53, of Atlanta passed away April 11, 2025. Sean, born at Northside Hospital in Atlanta, attended St. Jude Elementary School, St. Pius X High School and the University of Georgia. He was a member of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity at UGA. An avid outdoors-man, Sean spent most of his career in the restaurant industry which afforded him the opportunity to serve others on a daily basis. He lived life on his own terms and filled his days and nights with laughter, music, adventure and good times with friends. Societal norms never bound him. Sean was a philosopher and a poet. Could he ever tell a story! He sought answers to complex questions. He treated the kitchen like a laboratory, seeking to create new things by combining ingredients thought to be contradictory. Sean always strived to make those around him smile, with a joke or a tale spun for the entertainment of his audience, and he will be remembered for his gentle spirit.
Sean is survived by his parents, Brian and Linda Hernan, and brother, Jamie Hernan (Nancy), as well as nephews and niece, Ryan Hernan, Grace Hernan and Nick Hernan and extended family: Sandy and Roger Colburn, Christi Turner (Danny), Brett Turner, Eric Colburn (Nancy), Natalie and Gina Colburn,Bruce Colburn, Zack and Shane Colburn, Joe and Jordan Colburn.. Sean is also survived by a community of friends that he truly saw as part of his family. Sean leaves behind his beloved cats, Brownie and Milkbone (who have found a good home together), that kept him on his toes but also were a source of joy for him.
A funeral Mass will be held at St. Peter Chanel Catholic Church in Roswell Georgia at 2:00pm on Friday April 25, 2025. The Mass will be live streamed and available at https://www.youtube.com/@StPeterChanelCatholicChurch/streams. A reception follows in the church hall followed by internment at Milton Fields cemetery in Milton, Georgia.
