Sherman Campbell Obituary
Sherman Lee Campbell, 62, was born on April 30, 1962, and departed on July 05, 2024, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
Sherman was the son of the late Nancy Mitchell Campbell and Junior Campbell. He resided at Lake Waccamaw for 62 years and started his own business in Delco, Campbell's Transmission; Sherman worked until his last days.
Sherman was a 1981 graduate of Hallsboro High school, then went on to attend Cape Fear Community College where he obtained an associate degree in Machinist Technology. He later started Campbell's Transmission; He started his business from the ground and built it up to today's shop.
Sherman leaves to cherish his memories sons Justin R. Campbell of the home and Dakota Campbell [Jessica] of Elizabethtown, NC three sisters Priscilla Jacobs [Kenny Ray] Jennifer Campbell both of Lake Waccamaw and Jacqueline Campbell-Batten [Gregory] of Chadbourn, NC. Two brothers Marcus Spaulding of Lake Waccamaw and Christopher Campbell [Evie] of Fayetteville, GA. Nephews Dakota Campbell Jared Campbell Blake Campbell Bernard Jacobs Senca Spaulding; Nieces Briana Campbell Jasmine Robles Flora Jacobs-Bonilla Paula Jacobs Tonya Spaulding. Host of relatives and friends. Sherman had many special friends: Natalie Rickman, Greg Spaulding, Dean Spaulding, Michael Chavis, Archie Murphy, and Demeatrius Beatty.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at Worthington Funeral Home, with burial to follow in the St. James Memorial Cemetery.
The family will speak to friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday, at the funeral home.
