Stephen Casmira

Steve Casmira, son of Charles Casmira and Mary Mcquade passed away at the age of 71 on October 17, 2024. He was a beloved husband, father and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Steve was born on March 1, 1953 in Acushnet, MA where he spent his formative years. He proudly served in the United States Airforce. He worked various jobs including Massachusetts state highway division, chamberlain manufacturing and Tremblay's bus company. Throughout his career he was known for his hard work, dedication and passion for helping others. But more than anything Steve was a devoted husband. He loved his wife Debora beyond words, more than husband and wife they were best friends and true soul mates. Spending time and sharing stories with his family and friends was most important to him. He was always there to offer guidance, support and encouragement. In his free time, Steve enjoyed fixing cars, watching his favorite TV shows woodworking, and always looked forward to riding his Harley. Steve is predeceased by his brother Gary Casmira and sister Carol Mercer. He is survived by his loving wife Debora Casmira, his brother Charles Casmira (Chuck) and wife Brenda of Beaverton OR, his brother Michael Casmira and wife Mary Lee of Fairhaven MA, his sister Kathy Casmira of New Bedford MA, his brother Kevin Casmira and wife Sheryl of Fairhaven MA, his brother in law Robert Mercer of Fairhaven MA, his sister in law Colleen Casmira of Dartmouth MA, his children Robert Casmira and wife Kimberly of North Dartmouth MA, Dawn Gilbert and husband Troy of West Wareham MA, Rebecca Furtado of New Bedford MA, 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. His surviving wife's children Dawn Craig of Fall River, MA, Joseph Audet of Boston, MA, Jessica Daniel and husband Timothy of Virginia, Debby Young of Virginia, Jillian Goncalves and husband Victor of Fall river MA and 8 grandchildren, Several brother and sister in-laws, nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him. The family will receive friends from 4-6 pm Tuesday, Nov 5 2024 at McMillan-Small funeral home, Mrytle Beach. The memorial mass will be held at St Joseph's church in Fairhaven MA at a later date.
