Steve R. Daniell

Steve R. Daniell, 71, of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2024.
A man of many accomplishments, Steve was born on November 25, 1952, in Carroll County, Georgia. He was a proud graduate of Carrollton High School and was inducted into the Trojan Hall of Fame. After graduating high school, he attended the University of Southern Mississippi. During his time at Carrollton and Southern Miss, he passionately pursued his love for football as a dedicated member of the university's football team, where he showcased his exceptional athletic abilities and unwavering determination.
In 1978, Steve Daniell founded Daniell Motors in Hattiesburg. This family-owned and operated business became a labor of love, and he worked alongside his late wife and son, Breck, creating a tight-knit and customer-centric atmosphere. Steve's dedication and the family's commitment to excellence have made Daniell Motors a beloved establishment in the local community.
At the core of Steve's being was his love for his family and his devotion to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. As a husband, father, and grandfather, he provided endless love and wisdom. His loyalty to his siblings was unwavering, and he stood by their side through every joy and struggle. His memory will be cherished by everyone who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, Mr. J.C. Daniell and Mrs. Sara Jones Daniell, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Madalene Burbage Daniell; and brother, Johnny Tyre Daniell.
Mr. Daniell leaves behind to cherish his memory his son and daughter-in-law, Breck and Christy Daniell; his daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Erik Piazza; his five grandchildren, Reagan Daniell, Micah Daniell, Abby Kate Daniell, Daniel Piazza, and Matthew Piazza; and sisters and brothers-in-law Phyllis and Mack Skinner and Saralyn and Ronnie Burchfield.
A funeral service to honor and celebrate the life of Steve R. Daniell will be held on Sunday, June 23, 2024, at 3:00 PM. The service will take place at the Chapel of Martin & Hightower Funeral Home, followed by interment in Concord Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour.
