Theodore B. Billek, age 63, of Mantua Twp. "Barnsboro" passed away on Monday, August 21, 2024. He is survived by his daughters, Jacqueline Billek and Alexandra Billek; grandchildren, Konstantinos and Loukas Papageorgiou, and Iyanna Santiago; brothers, Robert Billek; sisters, Rosemarie Belan, Lorraine Dominick, and Kathleen DeVietro. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Hannah (DiVietro) Billek.
Our father was not a perfect person by any means, but we would like to focus on light rather than dark during this time. Known as Teddy/Ted by those who loved him, and was at many times a silly, fun-loving man. Ted worked as a carpenter who loved to crack jokes and watch comedy movies. He often tried to lighten the mood if you were sad or upset. Ted loved all sports but come football season he never missed an Eagles game. He always rooted for the home teams and his enthusiasm could be heard throughout the house.
Dad really loved music - we got a great rock music education from him. We saw that through the hard times he used his love of music to cope with his feelings and that's something we've learned from him. He loved the rock music of the 70's and 80's and there was usually music playing in the household. Dad also loved holidays, celebrating July 4th with fireworks and cookouts, Halloween with him in a mask, taking us Trick or Treating for hours, making Halloween very special because of his enthusiasm. Christmas was always special, with lots of lights and picking out a tree every year.
While although not always easy to love, our dad will be forever in our hearts. He will be greatly missed by his family.
Relatives & Friends are invited to a celebration of life from 2 pm to 6pm on Sunday, September 29th at the Paulsboro Sportsmen's Association, 32 Riverview Ave., Paulsboro, NJ. Memories & condolences can be shared at www.smithfhmantua.com.
