Thomas A. Slade, Jr., 65, of Grantsboro passed away peacefully on March 3, 2024, at Carteret General Hospital, Morehead City with his family by his side.
Tommy was born and raised in Pamlico County. He loved to fish and hunt but mostly he loved to hear his dogs run. He loved his family BIG and would tell them "I Love You" frequently. The biggest love of Tommy's life was Jesus, his Lord and Savior. He would also tell you how much he loved the Lord and his home Church, Rock of Zion FWB. He loved going to church but the past several years health issues prevented him from attending. He really missed his church family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Adolph Slade, Sr.; grandparents, Cleo and Lizzie Slade and Tim and Mary Stembridge.
Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Maudie Slade; brother, Mike Slade, both of the home; very special friend, Jenne Howard of Morehead City; her son, Robert Howard; uncle, Marvin Slade; aunt, Barbara Stembridge; and numerous cousins.
His funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 7th at Rock of Zion Church with the Rev. Ray Lewis officiating. Interment will follow immediately in Grantsboro Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family suggested memorial donations be made to Rock of Zion OFWB Church, PO Box 381, Grantsboro, NC 28529.
