Mr. Everett Anthony "Tony" Grubbs, age 80, of
Madison, Indiana, entered this life on March 12, 1943 in Washington County, Kentucky. He was the loving son of the late Everett E. and Lorena Mae Thornton Grubbs. He resided early in life in Washington County before moving to the Madison community in 1959. Tony was inducted into the United States Army on April 12, 1961 at Indianapolis, Indiana and rose to the rate of private first class serving during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged on April 13, 1964 at Fort Benning, Georgia and remained in the Reserves until being discharged on April 11, 1967. His first marriage in 1966 to Judy Jewell blessed him with a son, Michael, and two daughters, Vicky and Sheryl. He was united in marriage to Judy E. Hardwick on November 13, 1980 in Jefferson County, Indiana. This union of nearly 33 years blended two families. He had worked as a truck driver for Auxier Gas for 10 years, for Indiana Carriers (M&M) for six years, OK Trucking for five years, and finally for 18 years with Roadway Trucking before retiring. He was a member of the Lancaster Baptist Church and had attended the New Hope Church of God. He was a member and captain of Major Samuel Woodfill Post No. 9 of the American Legion Honor Guard for many years and had served on hundreds of funerals and events. He was a member of the Madison Moose Lodge No. 765 and enjoyed woodworking in his spare-time. Tony died on Friday, July 21, 2023, at the Kindred at Jewish Hospital in

Madison, Indiana; his loving daughters, Vicky Grubbs of
Madison, Indiana, Sheryl Grubbs and her companion Robert Gene Willhoite of
Madison, Indiana; his step daughter, Paula M. Garrett of Philadelphia, Mississippi; his step son, Paul Bartlett Garrett II and his wife, Amy of Greensburg, Indiana; his grandchildren, Ashley Trader (David Lemmon), James Anthony Grubbs (Brooke), Shelby L. Grubbs (Steven Stewart), Heather Danielle Grubbs McManus (Chris), Michael A. Grubbs; his step grandchildren, Jessie Michelle Garrett, Adam Garrett, Nathan A. Stewart (Chelsea Moore); his great grandchildren, Ayden Christopher Lee Willhoite, Logan Everett Grubbs, Jonathan McManus, Kendrick Smith, Adalyne Grubbs, Conner Grubbs, Alexis Patterson, Payton Lemmon, Megan Maddox-Grubbs, Ashton Maddox-Grubbs, and Remington Grubbs; his sisters, Mary Hall of Dupont, Indiana, Norma Goode of
Springfield, Kentucky, Doris Purdum of
Springfield, Kentucky, Kay Greene of Deaborn Heights, Michigan, Rosalee Kester of New Braunfels, Texas, Lorena Esper (Dennis) of
Springfield, Kentucky, Donna Parker of
Madison, Indiana, Susan Mullins (Lloyd) of Campbellsburg, Kentucky, Debra Grubbs of
Madison, Indiana; his brothers, Allen Dean Grubbs (Diane) of
Tinley Park, Illinois and Jerry Wayne Grubbs (Wanda) of London, Kentucky; 33 nieces and nephews and several great nieces, great nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Everett E. Grubbs, died November 2, 1999, his mother, Lorena Mae Thornton Grubbs died March 5, 1982, his beloved wife of 33 years, Judy E. Hardwick Grubbs died July 6, 2013, his grandson, Robert Lee Willhoite, died June 21, 2023, and his sisters, Helen Patricia Grubbs, Julia Louise Wall, and Anna Beatrice Johnson, two nieces, and two nephews.
FUNERAL CEREMONY
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., by Chaplain Mike Bath at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in
Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery,1415 North Gate Road in

VISITATION
Friends may visit Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in
Madison, Indiana.
MILITARY HONORS
A final salute with military honors will be provided by the Major Samuel Woodfill Post No. 9 of the American Legion.
