Etta Aulick Obituary

Etta Mae Aulick

Sweet, kind, generous, fun Etta Mae (Hoy) Aulick died peacefully in her sleep on July 29, 2016. She was born on August 28, 1924 in Covington, OK to Edgar and Mary (Bangerter) Hoy. She married Gerald Gene Aulick during World War II and lived the life of a military wife moving around the country with four children Roy, Linny, Paul, Patricia and various pets in tow.

After Gene's retirement from the Navy, the Aulick's settled in Springfield, MO in the late 50's and opened the G & E Dairy Sweet which they ran for several years. Later, Etta worked for Litton Industries until retirement.

Gene and Etta built a home in Fordland, MO where they spent 30 years living and working in the community. Etta moved to Springfield in 2000 and settled into what became known as the "Etta's Fowl House" due to her love of all things birds.

Always the gracious hostess, she spent the remainder of her life surrounded by a loving family and doing what she loved best, planning parties, shopping, playing dominos and cribbage, working crossword puzzles, and visiting with friends and family.

Etta is survived by her daughters, Linnetta (Linny) Neil her husband Lendal, Patricia Wallis, her husband Larry, daughter-in-law, Maurisa Aulick, along with many much loved grandchildren and great-grands, precious nieces, nephews, cousins, special friend and champion R.K. Jones, and many other cherished friends. Etta was preceded in death by her husband Gerald Gene Aulick and sons, Roy Gene Aulick and Paul Girrarde Aulick.

A celebration of Etta's life will be held 1 PM Saturday, August 13 at the Boat House, Lake Springfield. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, please gift an act of kindness to your fellow mankind. Online condolences may be left at www.gormanscharpf.com.

Such a sweet lady! I worked with her at Litton and Paul was in my class at Hillcrest 1965! Sorry I will not be able to attend as we now live in Navarre, Fl!

What a great lady she was. We laughed and said we were sisters, but not born at the same time; however, she was only 3 yrs my senior. She had SUCH a sense of humor and we laughed a lot. I was so glad to find another Ettamae, although it was spelled differently; and then we discovered still another (cook at Casper's). We went there to meet her and had a picture made, which a friend of mine took to Casper's and asked them to add it to their wall collection. I visited her in her home and she seemed very happy that I did. Very sorry I didn't go back, but guess I just got caught up in other things and we drifted apart. She came in to the Southside Senior Center a few times and we were so glad to see each other. She was a grand lady and I've been missing her -- regret that I didn't get back to see her or call her. Please accept my really sincere sympathy, Patricia and the rest of her family.
