It's been a long time, in fact 22 years

and wasn't until now that i shed a tear

when i meet you, you accepted me into your life

and a few years later you were there when your daughter Lori became my wife

you were always there when the kids were young

baby-sitting them, i think you had more fun

to watching the planes or dairy-queen

the smile on there faces is what we seen

and grandma's pancakes

trips to shafer lake

to the tent falling down

and papa always being a clown

you were always there for them

even thru the very end

from swimming in your pool in the nice weather

to the invite of steak, on a grill that needed to be put together

no matter what day month or year

you always had a fridge full of beer

you would always charge a dollar for one

but always forgot to collect when we were done

the good times I'll always remember for there were a million and one

and hope that like you were a dad i was a son

i know you knew i considered you as a dad

even thought i never told you, now it makes me sad

the memories you left is what we see

missed but never forgotten, in my heart you'll be

love always

Brian

I remember Jim & Flora from many years ago when they lived in Calumet City accross the street from Nancy & Jim Hasselberger. He was a very pleasant and personable man. He was a very funny man and also a gentleman. I have many fond memories of years ago when we would come for a visit and Jim would be there. My prayers are with his family and offer my deepest sympathy.

To the Umlauf Family,

We have so many good memories of Jim, the best friend we are fortunate to have had.

He was our friend since the 50's and he will always be remembered....he had a great sense of humor which sometimes included practical jokes. Like the times we put an ad in the newspaper to sell a car or to fix something. You could be sure that this very serious Chinaman would call and inquire about the car. And then there was the Halloween night that this very unrecognizable bum knocked on several neighbors' doors, looking for a treat!! And we can't forget the $1,000,000 check!!!

Jim was the most considerate and loving person we have been honored to know. He was also very sensitive, never afraid to show a tear or two.

Our children all have a special love for their "Uncle Jim". We will keep him in our thoughts and our prayers.

Thank you for loving Grandma as much as you did. I will always hold you close to my heart and may God continue to watch over you and take good care of you.
