He was a great mentor & supporter of the Hundred Year Association. He told great stories, it was fun for me to hear the story of the 1965 Black Out and being "stranded" with my Grandfather at the ULC bar...you will be missed by many Jay.

To Elinor and all the Urstadt's and Biddle's. My thoughts and prayers are with you and hope your happy memories and being with family and friends will comfort you during this difficult time. As a New Yorker, I am so grateful for Charlie's public service and its long term positive impact on our City and State. Personally, I am so grateful for his support when I ran for public office and the opportunity to be in his orbit if only for a bit! My favorite moment was when I asked him why some people called him Charlie and some Jay. He said his family calls him Jay and everyone else calls him Charlie but I could call him Jay! We will miss you Jay!!

To all of you dear Urstadt and Biddles, this is a beautiful tribute to such a well-loved, and renowned, and successful man. I know you all will always miss his presence. I enjoyed spending time, and a couple of celebrations, and a lovely Christmas Eve with Jay and your family. Know that you are loved. With hugs, Cornelia Mitchell
