I remember my Myron well and miss him. My fondest memory is of him, taking me into the walk-in at John´s one afternoon and having me sample a few things that he was really proud of. It was a really fun few minutes. It was always a pleasure to see him.

So sorry to hear of Myron's passing. He was a friend to me 25 years ago and helped me, fed me a few times and was just a sweetheart. I just found out. Have not lived in the city for close to 20 years. My deepest condolences to you, his family and all at Johns.

Dear Judith,
Only recently did we learn of Myron's passing. I had known Myron for 35 years. He was a unique and beautiful person. Myron had an extraordinary sensitivity and one of the biggest hearts of anyone that I had known. He was a true champion and knew what was really important in life. I am deeply sorry for this profound loss to you, the rest of his family, the community, and to anyone that had the privilege simply knowing Myron.

Dear Judith,
Deepest condolences. Mike called me at least twice a year for the past 15+ years... I will truly miss hearing from him. He was always very good to me and always made me laugh.
He was a great man and will be missed.

Mike was my first friend in Manhattan when we moved from suburban Queens. It was the week of my sweet 16 birthday, and we celebrated by going right across the street from our new apartment to John's of 12th Street for dinner. Mike was a sweetheart then, and always. (He even "proposed" to me then...we laughed about this for YEARS afterward.) I was so privileged to know him for 30 years. He was like an uncle to me. During my formative teenage years, I spent many a summer night hanging out with Mike, Nick, Val and all the waiters at John's...folding napkins until the wee hours of the morning...it was a safe haven for me to spend time. I think it's no small coincidence that I ended up marrying a restaurant guy! I was so very privileged to have known Mike for all these years, and although I can't be in New York for the memorial, my heart is with Mike's family, Nick, Val and all the extended John's family...my sincerest condolences. The world has lost a true mensch...and a character that only NYC could have raised...Mike was larger than life and his passing leaves a hole in our hearts.

I was shocked to hear of Myron's passing. I was searching the web to get his phone number when his obituary popped up.We were friends as teenagers in the Bronx. I visited him at "Johns" when my wife and I were in NY several years ago. He was "one of a kind" and will be missed.

I was fortunate to have known Myron my entire life - he always fondly reminded me that he used to make eggs for me when I was an infant. As a teenager I would bring dates to John's to get his "thumbs up" approval. I will miss you my friend and leave a seat open for you at the table.
