Thomson, Robert "Bob"

Devoted to and loved by his wife, Carol and their family, Omaha native Bob Thomson passed peacefully into eternal rest on Saturday, January 29, 2022. Bob, who would have turned 83 last week, was diagnosed with metastatic lung cancer only months prior to his death.

Robert Kendrick Thomson attended Dundee School in Omaha and graduated in 1957 from Omaha Central High School. After earning a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from Iowa State University, he moved to Pittsford, NY, and joined the Health Sciences Division of Eastman Kodak Company. A devoted son and brother, Bob loved a good joke and a good movie and had a special spark for life.

Upon his marriage to Carol in June 1983, Bob's family was the centerpiece of his life. A great friend who easily built and nourished many relationships, Bob had a contagious glow that continually reached out over the years to people he met both socially and during his business career. Bob relished the companionship of his friends at Monroe Golf Club. He retired in 1991 as Kodak's director of radiography and was extremely proud of his continual bonding with fellow retirees who looked upon him as a legend.

Bob volunteered for over ten years with elderly residents in Pittsford, helping them overcome computer issues, repairing TV sets and working many hours at the gift shop.

Bob was predeceased by his parents, Marvin and Charmian Thomson of Omaha. He is survived by his wife, Carol; his oldest daughter, Stacey and grandsons, Shawn, Ryan, and George; daughter, Laura and son-in-law, Dennis; granddaughter, Evangeline and grandson, William; and sister Melinda.

A MEMORIAL SERVICE through Anthony's Funeral and Chapel in Brighton, NY, was held at First Presbyterian Church of Pittsford, followed by a gathering at Monroe Golf Club. In Bob Thomson's name, kindly make donations to The Friendly Home, 3156 East Avenue, Rochester, NY 14618.
