Thomas Inman Obituary

Thomas C. Inman, 56, of Midland died unexpectedly Sunday, Aug. 14, 2005, at the MidMichigan Medical Center, from an apparent heart condition.

He was born on Feb. 8, 1949, in Midland, the son of the late Jennie (Church) and Stanley Inman. He attended Bullock Creek Schools, graduating in 1968. After graduation he immediately joined the U.S. Navy and was sent to Vietnam. He ended his Navy career after 30 years of service. Tom had worked inside The Dow Chemical Co. with the railroad. He was a member of the Sanford Eagles Aerie #3677, the Midland VFW Post #3651 and the Midland American Legion Berryhill Post #165. He enjoyed deer hunting with his fiancé Barb Clarady. He also enjoyed fishing and especially enjoyed pitching horseshoe tournaments.

He is survived by his fiancé Barb; father and stepmother, Stanley and Marilyn Inman; special son, Dan Bennett of Midland; three brothers, Larry (Sharon) Inman, Vince (Bobbi) Inman and Eric Inman, all of Midland; two sisters, Fran (Ray) Johnson of Sanford and Janet (Albert) Provost of Midland; and two grandchildren, Faith and Emily.

Funeral services will take place 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2005, from the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Chapel, 1200 W. Wheeler St. Pastor Fred Becknell of the Midland Missionary Church will officiate, with burial In Lee Township Cemetery.

Tom's family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service.

Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the American Heart Association or the Diabetes Association. Full military honors will be presented by the Midland Area Veterans. T.C. worked very hard for us at Midland County Parks and made a huge impact on the whole staff with his humor and knowledge of human nature and everything mechanical. All of us are going to miss our "shipmate"

Dear Uncle Stanley, Marilyn and my cousins in the Inman Family,

Our prayers and thoughts are with you at this time. We send our sympathy to each of you. As the days go forward you will not be forgotten in our prayers. I worked with Tom while employed at Dow, OmniTrax Switching. He was a kind person who treated everyone with respect. He had a warm personality and a wonderful smile.

He will be truly missed.
