David Endruschat, 42, of Lake Worth, FL, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2013. Dave is survived by his parents, John and Mary Endruschat of Atlantis, FL, sister, Suzanne Endruschat, brother-in-law, Joseph Dandrade, nephew, Iggy Dandrade, and niece, Maggie Dandrade, of Delray Beach, FL, and numerous loving relatives. Dave is also survived by his four dogs, Kiera, Adama, Bernie, and Pretty Little Girl, and his cat, Puppy, whom he considered his furry children. Dave also had countless friends who cherish his memory. Dave was known for his loving and generous spirit and his bear hugs. He was a stranger to no one, and his circle of friends was ever expanding. He had a great sense of humor and a hearty laugh. He was always ready to help friends and strangers alike. Dave loved the Miami Dolphins, cooking and baking, music, reading, chess, and was a lifelong Trekkie. A highlight of Dave's life was his winning appearance on Wheel of Fortune in 2008. Dave always lived his life on his own terms. He was fiercely devoted to his family and friends and will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 14, 2013 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. at Quattlebaum Funeral Home, 1201 South Olive Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL. 33401 A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Monday, April 15, 2013 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1000 West Lantana Road, Lantana, FL 33462, with interment to follow at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Cemetery, Royal Palm Beach, FL. Dave Endruschat, an original, a free spirit, a humanist, an experimentalist, an intellectual, and a good friend with the heart of a lion. You were the glue of our scene as kids at a little club in Lake Worth called Echos. I remember at your graduation the dean called you the human encyclopedia. Smart you are you can't follow, and you are fearless. I hope you find your peace. See you in the next life.

Hey Dave, I really didn't think I would never see you again, but I know maybe I will in the here after. I cherished your friendship and know you did mine. I can't believe it...I knew Dave as kind, charismatic, a person who could make things happen. He was one of the first people to actually be kind to me in high school. I am deeply saddened to hear that he is no longer with us. God bless all those who were closest to him, may your grief have mercy on you, and may Dave always be remembered with love, by everyone. My love and prayers are with all of us here that miss you especially your family. It sucks to know I won't be able to hug you, smack you, whatever the occasion called for. I am blessed with my memories of our adventures I have always cherished our friendship. Wow dave, it's been a few years since I've seen you... This makes me wish I would've stopped and gave a hug all the times that I've past by your house and thought of it. We had some great times and you always made me feel at home and like family all of those days spending countless hours at your home being stuffed to the brim with cookie fudge with peanutbutter&jelly m&m's and the most amazing coffee with icecream that I've ever had cross my lips. I took warmth in seeing Dave's obituary was beautifully written and expressed who he is so well..."stranger to no one" seems the perfect description to me.27 years ago, I was a frightened,shy, ill adjusted kid struggling with moving 1000 miles from home, and Dave was one of the first people to introduce himself to me. He was genuinely kind and gave himself emotionally with no reservation. I've poured my heart and soul out to Dave and received complete acceptance in return, and I know I'm not the only one. Dave was easily trusted with the most intimate of expressions and I suspect he knew the aspirations, hopes, dreams, fears, regrets, and deepest secrets of half the people he ever met.Though I have never met Dave's family, I offer my sincere condolences to you for your loss. I hope there is some comfort in knowing that your loss is shared by so many-many who have expressed their grief and many who remain silent-that feel that Dave touched their lives and changed them for the better with his kindness and sincerity. I believe that simply by listening, caring, and being supportive of both the greatest and the least among us, Dave made a bigger difference in more lives than can ever be measured.

I haven't seen Dave in about 15 years.. We worked together at the Amoco gas station. In all that time I've never forgotten him because he was such a bright light.
He was kind, hilarious, and truly a free spirit. I always admired him for being brave enough to be true to himself and be that free spirit.. Also, for always being able to smile, and make me smile, no matter how bad our workday was going.
I'm so sorry for the loss that his family and friends are feeling.
I trust that Dave's light continues to shine just as bright as always.. I hope you can take comfort in feeling the warmth of his light.
