MELVIN STEPHEN HAINES
6/20/42 - 1/25/2018
Born in Taft, CA to LaNelle and Bill Haines. Mel passed away unexpectedly on January 25, 2018 due to complications of COPD and the flu. The family moved to Riverside, CA in 1956. Mel attended Poly High School. Mel was a hard worker and a proud member of the Sprinkler Fitter's Union for 50 years. He retired in 2003. He enjoyed Nascar, football, horse racing and a Bud Light or two.
He is survived by his wife Barbara; daughters Geneva Haines of Redding, Ca, and Theresa Haines of Crescent City, Ca; three step children Dennis, Kristy & Karla; 14 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; his brother (and best friend) Michael Haines of Riverside and sister Edna Paine of Redding, CA.
His family and friends knew him as loving, caring, loyal and generous. He will always be in our hearts, never forgotten and greatly missed by all.
