Doris Haug Obituary
Beacon - Doris Lynch Haug, age 90, of Beacon, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2016. Doris was born on December 13, 1925, the daughter of Anna and James Lynch. She graduated from Beacon High School and went on to receive her Business Administration degree from the College of New Rochelle. Her college roommate, Betty Haug, introduced Doris to her brother, Charles. They fell in love and began their life journey. They started in Nashua, NH and resettled in Beacon. Together they established a Catholic Marriage Club at St. John the Evangelist Parish. She was active for many years with the Oblates Community in Newburgh, NY.
Doris cherished her hometown of Beacon, NY. She was an enthusiastic fan of the Hudson Valley Renegades and attended countless games. Doris especially enjoyed Broadway shows and adored the music of Glenn Miller and Frankie Valli. She will always be remembered for her laughter, sense of humor and her devotion to her family and Our Lord. Doris will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her.
Doris is survived by seven children: James Haug (Mary), Charlotte Haug, Anne Houghtalin (Gregg), Claire Denise, Mark Haug (Claudia), Paul Haug (Beth) and Bernadette Pickles (Mark); grandchildren Michele, Emily, Brian, Matt, Jonathan, Mary, Danielle, Laurie, Lalena, Chuck, Mark, Christian, Jordan, Logan, Rebekah, James, Jennifer, Austin, Joshua; and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Charles Louis Haug, who was waiting for her at the Gates of Heaven.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. on Saturday, August 27 at Halvey Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Willow Street, Beacon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 31 Willow Street, Beacon. Burial will follow at St. Joachim Cemetery, Beacon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a church or charity of your choice.
