Les CRAWFORD Obituary

At peace, 1/4/77-8/24/12. Our beloved Les Crawford. He left this world too soon. He was the cherished husband to Lucy, most beloved son of Judy Gellett; brothers Mark and Sean Gellett; sisters Kari Gellett Cameron and Sara Gellett Schuman. He was the much loved Uncle Boo to Cassandra, Matt and Elizabeth Schuman and to Morgan Cameron. Les leaves numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and a countless number of friends. Les was a very loving, giving person who never met a stranger. All who knew him loved him unconditionally. The loss we feel is unfathomable. Please come and celebrate his life and the short time we had with him on Sunday, September 2, at the Student Center at Ursuline High School, 90 Ursuline Rd, at 2:00 p.m. A memorial Fund has been set up in his name at Exchange Bank.

I remember Les from Cook. I remember that Les had such a personality...and was full of life, light, and laughter. He was a presence...and had the confidence at such a young age to be himself when everyone else was insecure. I was sad today to hear of his passing. I thank Les for the love he gave all of us...and pray for healing and peace for all of us who have a hard time letting him go.

Les was a great man. He was my neighbor and friend. He was like a mentor for us kids on the block. He used to take us to the jumps on the railroad track and play football out on the street. I will never forget him. I can still see his smile and hear his laugh... He always seemed so happy. He touched alot of lives and will never be forgotten.

When I think back to my days at Cook Jr. High, Les is one of the people who pop up in my mind; and I think back to how those are the best memories I have as a teen. He was always funny and delightful to be around. The life of any group setting. My prayers to his family, friends and wife for the loss of such a light. I pray that time will heal the void and memories of his smile and laughter will replace the pain.
