John DeSantis

Dr. John DeSantis, 89, of Temple passed away Sunday, December 4th in the Reading Hospital after a four-year battle with cancer. John was born May 20, 1933 in Temple to the late Martino and Matilde DeSantis. John is survived by his wife Denise (Diefenderfer) DeSantis of Temple who he married in 1973, along with two sons, Dr. Martin DeSantis of Sarasota, FL and Justin DeSantis of Wyomissing, PA. John is also survived by his younger sister, Silvia Sharp, wife of Steve Sharp of Temple. There are several nieces and nephews. John is predeceased by his older brother, Albert DeSantis and Albert's wife Ann. John was a 1951 graduate of Muhlenberg High School. He graduated from St. Joseph's University in 1954 and Temple University School of Dentistry in 1957. After he completed dental school, John served two years in the United States Army, stationed in Baumholder, Germany. After serving overseas in the Army, John returned to Temple, PA where he started his own private dentistry practice on Kutztown Rd. in Hyde Park where he worked for nearly fifty years. John was a lifelong member of the St. Marco Society in Temple and a member of the Berks County Dental Society. A viewing will take place on Saturday morning, December 10th from 9 AM until 10:15 AM in the Milkins Trymbiski Funeral Home, 4914 Kutztown Rd., Temple A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, December 10th at 11 AM in Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, 3121 Kutztown Rd., Hyde Park, Reading, PA 19605 with Reverend Allen J. Hoffa and Reverend E. Michael Camilli as celebrants. Interment will be at a later date at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your charity of choice.
