Goodbye "Bob Thomas"! I only saw you once or twice a year, but every time our eyes met, you had a big, wide grin waiting for me. You were never anything but friendly, even in times when things weren't going so well for you. I look back at my "radio days" in Redding with loving fondness. It was such a special time in my life and you were defintely a part of it. I am humbled by the outpouring of adoration you've received in this guest book. You deserve it!

"WHAT A SHOCK" Bob I was on my way into Redding last week listening to Billy and Patrick and there it was! Bob had died.......I darn near crashed right there on 273. I am so sorry, I loved all the years of knowing you. I appreciated your humor and kind nature, it has to be said that I will profoundly miss ever running into you again. Maybe on the other side and we can work a meet and greet together huh? "I LOVE YOU FRIEND'. Always, Petie

My heart is breaking today as I just heard of your passing. But I have to smile knowing that my beloved Randy was waiting for you on the other side. What a show...Tappan and Thomas was good...Chapman & Thomas..now that's heaven!

My Dear Friend BT
Thank you for making me feel so welcome when I came to Star 107.1 and Q97.I can still hear "Tappan and Thomas" doing "quick hits" or some off the wall stunt in front of Winn River Casino. Working with you and everybody at Results Radio was one of the best experiences of my life. I was thinking of you the last month and should have called you like my soul was telling me.I miss you my broadcast brother. Rest in peace my friend we love you.

Bob, I'm sorry I haven't taken the time to return to where radio all began for me. And you were one of the originals at B-94, never will there be a place like that or people better to work with. The stories we could tell (but won't)
and now are just memories. Radio Ranch, Doc's, Grand Central, Whiskeytown Lake, Dave,Kevin,Gary,Suz,Amos,Brad,Barry, and you. Life is really too short, and you proved it to all of us. Look down and guide the rest of us will ya?

Bob, there are no words to express the feeling of loss for all of your radio friends and beyond. I'm thankful I'll always have the laughter to remember, and man, were there a lot of laughs. I'm especially grateful the last time we saw each other was filled with laughter. Anytime I play Yes or Genesis, you'll be there. Rest peacefully, good man. You are loved.

I just learned of "Brother" Bob's passing today from the radio industry website and am also saddened by the loss of another of Shasta County's "true" radio veterans.
Bob hosted the entertainment for my oldest daughter's wedding a couple of years ago and while I was in town for the event had the wonderful opportunity to visit with BT (as many of us that worked together over the years would call each other by our initials) and "catch up" on all the radio info for the Redding area.
Please also note that Bob was part of the winning team at McCarthy Wireless (prior station licensee of many of the radio stations located at Charles Drive in Redding, that are now licensed to Result Radio) and always a team player with never a frown on his face. I thoroughly enjoyed working against BT in the early years when he was at the original KEWB-FM 94.3 when they had studios in Anderson and I was part of the crew at the original KSHA-FM 104.3 when it was at the back end of the Hilltop Town and Country Center...and when he was part of our crew at KNCQ-FM 97.3 back in the mid '90's.
Noticed earlier that there is a tribute of sorts on the Q-97.3 website which I would encourage everyone to click onto.
I echo with what George Tharalson has said and would like to add that Bob was always aware of his surroundings and always made it a point to reach out.
BT...The North State will miss you and so will all of us that you reached out to.

Bob, You will be greatly missed by all. Thank you for the wonderful 2 1/2 years that I worked with you and for the practical jokes that you liked to play on me on the air on April Fools, I still tell people about what you and Dave did. To your family, Bob will be greatly missed by all, may peace be with you at this time.

Bob,
You really made a difference in my radio career always critiquing and expressing what I could do to improve. I always remember when you played my song requests right away as a young man. Thanks for the memories and I am sorry about your passing. I will really miss you!!!

To Destiny and the family, please accept our deepest sympathy at the sudden loss of your dadand brother. Bob had an infectious nature, whether working or at play, and will be missed by anyone who ever met or talked with him for even a moment. Your dad and Dave T. were the only ones my wife enjoyed listening to from a country music standpoint. In your grief, take solace in knowing that you each now have your own personal guardian angel on your shoulder. God bless you and your family, and know that Redding is a less enjoyable music place without your dad and brother here.

I fist met Bob in 1977 at KBLUF in Red Bluff when I used to go out to the station and BS with him at night...he was a very charming and warm person. Destiny, you were the light of his life, may you find comfort knowing your Dad touched so many lives.

Bob,
I have been thinking about you a great deal over the past few months, wondering how and where you were. I am shocked and deeply saddened to happen along the news of your passing. We had a lot of fun...way back in the 80s. I still clearly remember meeting you that night at B94 a lifetime ago and how our friendship sparked immediately. Hey, don't worry about that magic $20 bill...Great trick! I won't hold that against you. I hope you're at peace. I only wish I could've said goodbye.

Bob-to this day, I can't think of you without smiling. You were truly one of the most kind hearted people I'd ever known. Those of us who were blessed with your friendship, are better people for it. You took me under your wing when I first got into radio-and I'll never be able to thank you enough. You will forever be in our hearts and memories.

I met Bob when I used clean the B-94 raido station on Hartnell ages ago. Bob was always there to greet you with a smile. Sometimes he would hide from the cleaning crew and catch us by surprise. I will miss his smile and his great sense of humor. It was a honor to know him. My deepest sympathy goes out to his family.

Bob,
You were always so kind to me, and I will always miss you. Walking down the halls of the station will not ever be the same to anyone... I may not be in Redding anymore, but I miss you just the same... Thank you for all the kindness that you have shown me since I was little. God Bless

Bob, I grew up listening to you on K-60 and on B94. I I finally had the joy of meeting you in 1997, and you became one of my closest friends. I just moved back to California from Ohio, and was going to give you a call, but sadly found out yesterday that I would never get the chance to hear your voice again. I am sad that we will never get the chance to reconnect......Rest in Peace, Bob.

Everyone that met Bob, developed a special friendship with him. His wit and charm made it impossible not to love him, to want to take care of him and to help him through his struggles in life. Bob was there for me when I began my broadcasting career in Redding and coached me along the way. He could tell when I could use a friend to talk to and had an instinctive way of just popping up with ice cream while I was working at a competitive station from his favorite stop, Leatherbys. That is just one example of the many things that Bob would always do, out of the blue, in his quite, unassuming way, to let you know that he cared.
He loved being on the air, and I remember him putting on a dress and wig, A Hot Dog Costume, he walked through a car wash, wore a tutu, and did so many other funny things, that most of us would be to shy to even consider. He LOVED watching the reactions and making people laugh. He was exceptional in that way. I still get a smile on my face when I think of the crazy stuff he would do.
Bob also had a knack of putting many a Bride at ease on her wedding day, partly with his comfortable manner, but mostly with laughter. (not an easy feat!)
Destiny, I know that your father loved you very much! His eyes always had a little extra sparkle when he spoke of you. Although he is gone in the physical sense, try to find comfort in the knowledge that he will always be there looking after you.
Bob, I will miss your laugh, your hugs and especially your smiling, sparkling eyes.
Ice cream will forever in my heart be shared with you!
God Bless you & may you Rest in Peace my Friend.

I was very saddened to hear about Bob's passing. I remember listening to him on K-60 and B-94 when I was in junior high and high school. When I'd see him on live remotes, he was always so jovial and everyone at the radio station always had good things to say about Bob. His voice will be missed. God Speed Bob.
