Survivors include his wife of 73 years, Bessie Marie Carter; daughters, Bonnie Darlene Clark, Joyce Lissmann and husband, Pete; son, Barry William Carter; nieces, Gloria Koth, Sylvia Caimpoli, Marilyn Harness; nephew, Mayo Sifford; grandchildren, Sherry Kendrick and husband, Jamie, William Fralin, Rodney, Stephen and wife, Vanessa, Michael, Kenneth Clark, Jonathan Duval Carter; great-grandchildren, David and Bryan Thornhill, Madison Carter, Erin Fralin, Tyler, Brandon, Ryan, Kayla, Dillon, and Julian Clark;
great-great-grandchildren, Jordan, Hayden, Temperence Thornhill, Willow Clark.
Graveside funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2013, at Sherwood Memorial Park with the Rev. Gary Butcher officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Oakey's South Chapel.
