Joe Carrasco Obituary

Joe A. Carrasco, 65, of Roanoke, Va., went to be with his Heavenly father on Thursday, November 9, 2023.
Joe met the love of his life, Debbie, and they married on May 7, 1983. Joe and Debbie celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary earlier this year.
Joe was an avid hunter, fisherman, and Cleveland Browns fan, although his new favorite hobby was being a grandpa. He was an active member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church and recently retired from AEP after 43 years of employment.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Naomi Carrasco. He is survived by his wife, Debbie; oldest daughter, Miranda Weaver, son-in-law, Travis Weaver, grandson, Cameron; and his youngest daughter, Antonia. He is also survived by his sisters, Mary Cook (James) and Nancy Woody (Mike); nephews; and many friends.
Joe will always be remembered for being a wonderful husband, a great dad, and the best "Pop Pop."
A visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. with a memorial service celebrating his life and faith following at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at Mineral Springs Baptist Church, 1030 Bible Lane, Vinton, VA 24179.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Joe to the American Heart Assocation or to Mineral Springs Baptist Church. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.Oakeys.com.

It´s with a heavy heart that I am reading about the passing of a truly great man who was a wonderful employee and representative of APCO and AEP. I worked with Joe on many situations involving both employees and customers with regard to customer inquiries as a H R Manager in WVa and Va. Even after I retired, Joe was always my go to for resolutions involving customer service. My prayers for Debbie and Miranda and Antonia and Cameron.
