Jeanette Dunlap Obituary
GRANITE QUARRY - Jeanette LaGree Dunlap, age 84, formerly of 835 White Rock Ave., died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2007, at City of Oaks nursing facility, Raleigh, after a period of declining health.
Mrs. Dunlap was born July 13, 1922, in Badin to the late Emma Jane Edwards LaGree and John LaGree. She was educated in the public schools of Rowan County and was a domestic worker and caterer.
She was a Rowan County 4-H leader for many years and was a member of White Rock AME Zion Church, where she was active with the C.J. Shuford Sunday School Class, Kitchen Committee and was in the Flower Club.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband John J. Dunlap and sons Maurice Eugene "Sonny" Dunlap and Thomas Monroe "Tim" Dunlap.
She is survived by a daughter Norma Dunlap-Odom and husband Robert of Raleigh; sister-in-law Cora LeGree of East Spencer; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Service: The funeral services will be today at 4 p.m. at White Rock AME Zion Church, Granite Quarry, with the Rev. William Gullick officiating. Burial will be in the church Cemetery.
Visitation: There will be a visitation 30 minutes prior to the funeral at the church. The family will also receive friends at the home of Cora LeGree, 410 N. Maple St., East Spencer.
