Mark was a loving husband, brother, son, father, and grandfather who passed away in his sleep on May 23, 2020. His interests were many and his friendships lasting, all of us drawn to his authentic personality, humility, and easy laugh. Mark lived a joyful and full life: golfing with the guys, whipping up big dutch ovens filled with delicious scalloped spuds, playing banjo with the music tribe, pinochle with his grandchildren, and poker with the gang. He loved rafting rivers, fishing for salmon in Alaska, singing rugby songs, and biking through his Pleasure Point neighborhood. Mark worshipped at the church of baseball. After 30 years working as a general contractor Mark became an accomplished potter, gifting vases and mugs to loved ones across the country.
Mark was born in Nebraska and spent his life tirelessly rooting for the Huskers, even as his family moved west to Wyoming and then Whittier, California. In Whittier he met the love of his life, Teresa Porter Corwin, who would become his high school sweetheart and wife of 49 years. He made her laugh every day. Most recently Mark brought smiles to many by cruising through town in his father's 1954 Austin Healey, with his beloved dog Tess as co-pilot.
Mark is survived by his wife Terry, children Emily Corwin (Jon Mires), Meredith Keet (Kevin Keet), and Tyler Corwin (Celine Silberberg), grandchildren Cole Mires, Lane Mires, Harper Keet, and Alida Keet, and his three sisters Deborah Corwin (Laura Diem), LeeAnn Corwin (Jennifer Faler), and Lisa Corwin.

Mark has been a wonderful friend for 47 years. Initially I knew Mark as a great teammate and extremely skilled athlete, but soon was most impressed by his integrity, love of family and commitment to friends. Mark had a great sense humor, a big laugh, and loved gatherings of family and friends. He was a creative, highly skilled builder, but had many other interests. Mark had a "can-do/get-er done" attitude and brought high energy to sports, work, projects, and any group expedition. I enjoyed and valued his insight and opinions and always enjoyed his enthusiastic updates on all of his family, adventures with his wife Terry, and the new hobbies/activities he was engaged in. He was strong in body and character; it has been difficult to accept his passing. His spirit will live strong into the future, and I will think of him often for years to come.

I met Mark for the first time only recently in the last few months he and Terry lived in their beautiful family home. He was generous, kind, and incredibly welcoming. As a friend of Merediths, I have admired from afar for years the love and time he and Terry gave their children and grandchildren. Such a big loss. My heart is with the whole family.

Mark was a very unique and warm human being and friend. We only had an encounter with friends every year at Bill Gorgas' cabin in Kennedy Meadows, but it was always memorable. He had such a love for his family, wife, children and grandchildren and we would share stories of our children, now adults. He also had a love for the ocean and Santa Cruz which we all shared over the years. I will miss Mark's humble integrity and the always thoughtful and gracious way he treated everyone. My prayers to his family.

I have the fondest memories of Mark and the dog at our favorite Its beach. I can see that smile and great attitude. He will be missed. Love from Alida and Daisy dog.
