Timothy Firestone Obituary

Timothy Firestone
May 9, 1959 - March 17, 2017
Resident of Fresno
Timothy Stuart Firestone passed away from life comfortably after a yearlong battle with cancer. Born in Long Beach, CA he moved with his family to Portland, OR and then Morristown, NJ. After nine years in New Jersey Tim moved to Santa Cruz with his mother Beverly and two brothers. He graduated from Santa Cruz High School. Tim spent time in Phoenix AZ with his brother John before moving to Pittsburgh, PA. There he was reunited with his father before returning to the SF Bay Area. Tim worked as an accomplished picture framer before opening his own business with a partner in Sunnyvale. He was an avid cook and loved to host dinner parties for family and friends. He was a fan/trivia wiz of classic Hollywood movies. Tim enjoyed European travel and visited Cuba with his close friend, Gus. In his younger days he was a competitive athlete in both tennis and soccer. His two brothers Steve and John, daughter Brianna, grandson Tevin, stepfather Jack, aunt, cousins, extended family, and many friends survive Tim. He will be missed. There will be a private family service for Tim. Donations can be made in his name to Hospice of Santa Cruz.

It is 2025, and I still think of Timmy. It does not matter that the last time I saw him was in June of 1975, he is in my memory. What hurts is that his life was cut short. The missing 3rd Firestone brother and I know it has to hurt John and Steve a lot more no matter how much time passes. Losing a sibling and then going through life, year after year minus their aliveness is a chronic feeling of being both lost and found, simultaneously. Something as enlightening as looking at a sunrise or sunset is off when you remember your sibling can't ever again be standing next to you, no matter your memories.

Dear Firestone Family,
I am very sorry for your loss. I remember Timmy as a happy person living in Morristown, NJ with his brothers and Mother. I visited their house often because I was sweet on his brother, John. I remember him in Santa Cruz, CA, when I lived with the Firestone Family in 1974. Timmy was kind, funny and put up with me with brotherly humor. I have often thought of all of the Firestones with gratitude over the years. At the time I lived with this generous family, I did not understand what a gift it was, yet their influence has given me an understanding in how to a live a successful and happy life. I am sorry that Timmy's beautiful life was shortened and that his family will miss his uplifting personality and smile. My heart goes out to all of you.
In peace, Debbie Rolio

I am so sorry to hear of Tims passing. He was one of my best friends when I lived in the Bay area and a groomsman at my wedding. Even though it has been many years since we have talked I can still hear his quiet laugh and see his gentle smile.
