Andrew Goodwill Murphy, known to his family and friends as Drew, died unexpectedly in the early hours of Sunday June 17, 2018.
With a quick wit and a contagious smile, Drew left an indelible impression on everyone he met. He had the unique ability to brighten any room he walked into, and made everyone he met feel welcome. Drew was genuine and goodhearted to the core. He was truly one in a million.
The most important things in Drew's life were his family, girlfriend Ivy, wide net of incredible friends, and his beloved dog, Culley. He had recently become a very proud uncle to his first niece, Vera. He spent as much time as he could spare enjoying the fruits of the northwest: camping adventures in the North Cascades and beyond, boating Lake Washington, and avidly supporting the Seattle Mariners and the Seattle Seahawks. Drew was a huge music fan; he regularly attended concerts and live shows, especially if it was his favorite band Phish.
Drew was a 2007 graduate of Archbishop Murphy High School in Everett, WA. He received his Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2011. Drew had a successful career in sales in the Seattle area, beginning with A&B Imports. From 2014 - 2017 he held various roles with Leafly, owned by Privateer Holdings. At the time of his death he was employed as an Account Executive at Convoy.
Drew leaves behind many broken hearts: his mother Patricia Murphy; his sister Sarah Murphy Aller, brother-in-law Spencer Aller and their daughter, Vera; and his love and life partner, Ivy Gress. He was preceded in death by his father Thomas Goodwill Murphy.
In an effort to support one of his passions, Drew's family and friends have set up a page to raise funds for one of his favorite camping and hiking areas, the North Cascades National Park. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributing to this endeavor:
