Louis Gantt Obituary
KINGS MOUNTAIN-Louis Earl Gantt, age 64, died Sunday, Nov. 12, 2017, at home. Born in Cleveland County, on Dec. 21, 1952, he was the son of Janie Elizabeth Howard Gantt of Shelby and the late Bobby Gene Gantt. Louis was a member of Zion Baptist Church. He served as Military Police at Leavenworth in the United States Army, and retired from AT&T as a lineman after a number of years of service. Louis loved carp fishing. In addition to his father, Louis is preceded in death by a brother, Steve Gantt.
In addition to his mother, Louis is survived by his wife of 26 years, Barbara Brooks Gantt; a step daughter, Heather Clucas and husband Matt of Kings Mountain; step grandchildren, Zack Hayes and wife Ambriel, and Chloe Hayes; a sister, Teresa Thrift and fiancée Russell Hargreaves of Kings Mountain; and two brothers, Ricky Gantt and wife Marilyn of Shelby and Larry Gantt of Lawndale.
The family will receive friends from 1 until 3 p.m., on Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2017, at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory.
A private service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Oak Grove Volunteer Fire Department, 838 Oak Grove Road, Kings Mountain, NC 28086.
