Jinetta DelVecchio Obituary

Jinetta A. (DiMeco) DelVecchio of Braintree, passed away peacefully, after a long illness, on September 5, 2018, at the age of 78. Jinetta was the beloved wife of the late Leonard M. DelVecchio; loving mother of Kimberly A. DelVecchio of Braintree, Jeffrey L. DelVecchio of Braintree, Vincent O. DelVecchio and his wife Virginia of Stoneham, and Richard J. DelVecchio and his wife Jill of Braintree. Survived by her cherished granddaughters, Kellie Condon and her husband Will, Nicolette DelVecchio, Kayla DelVecchio, Kristen DelVecchio, Dominique DelVecchio; and her step-grandsons, Zack and Nick DelVecchio; her two great-grandchildren, Kennedy and William Condon; and many nieces and nephews. She was the devoted sister of Linda Thompson of Quincy, Ilda DiMeco of Weymouth and Fredy DiMeco and his wife Ellen of Fla. Born in Medford, Jinetta grew up in Weymouth and graduated from Weymouth High School, Class of 1957. She worked as a secretary for Attorney Nathaniel Sherman in Quincy for 36 years and also worked at both Jordan Marsh and Macys for many years and retired from Quincy Medical Center. Jinetta spent many happy years following her childrens sporting events. She was a woman with strong faith and was a daily communicant at the Pastoral Center in Braintree. Jinetta was an avid reader; however, her true passion was cooking for her family and vacationing on Cape Cod. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Jinetta will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to have known her. Reposing at the Cartwright-Venuti funeral Home, 845 Washington St., Braintree, until 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 8, followed by a funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Church, So. Braintree Square. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday, September 7, from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will take place in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
