John Bradley Obituary

John J. Bradley of Braintree, formerly of Dorchester passed away peacefully Feb. 12, 2013 at the age of 89. Beloved husband of 59 years to Lorraine R. (Roy) Bradley. Loving father of Jack J. Bradley of Wellesley, Paul J. Bradley of Wellesley, Mark C. Bradley of Hingham, Clare M. Wright of Braintree, Anne J. Annaccone of E. Bridgewater, and Jean E. Bradley of Scituate. Devoted brother of Charles Bradley of Hingham. Dear grandfather of Mark, Nicholas, Alison, Justin, Meaghan, Amy, Andrew, Katherine, Peter, John, Hannah, Abby, and Ryan. Also survived by two great-grandchildren, Maximus and Lincoln. John was born in Boston and grew up in Dorchester where he lived until moving to Braintree 56 years ago. He was a graduate of Boston College High School, Boston College, and received his Masters in Education from Boston State. He served in the US Navy during WWII. He was a teacher, supervisor, and principal in the Boston Public School system. Most recently he was the principal of the Pauline A. Shaw School before retiring in 1988. He was a past president of the Boston Association of School Administrators and Supervisors. After his retirement he substituted as teacher and principal at St. Francis of Assisi School, Braintree. For many years he was a Eucharistic Minister and Lector at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Braintree. An avid golfer, he was a member of the Braintree Municipal Golf Course and Braintree Mens Golf Assoc. Reposing at the Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home, 845 Washington St., Braintree, MA until 8 a.m. Saturday followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, So. Braintree Sq. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013 at 11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to John J.
