Deborah Ann "Debbie" Johnson Deborah Ann "Debbie" Johnson, of Austin, passed away on Friday, February 18, 2005 at the age of 44. Debbie was born on September 22, 1960, in Ipswich, Suffolk, England, to Milton and Christine Johnson. Debbie attended elementary school in Croughton and Upper Heyford, England. She attended John Glenn Junior High School and Central High School in San Angelo, Texas. She attended Angelo State University in San Angelo and completed her B.A. in speech therapy at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. After graduation, she worked at the state school in San Angelo. She moved to Austin and worked at the Brown Schools. She married Joel C. Johnson on November 24, 1984, in San Angelo and in 1992, she left the Brown Schools to stay at home with her family. Debbie was very active in her children's school functions at Cedar Creek Elementary and Hill Country Middle School. She, Joel and the children are members of Westlake Hills Presbyterian Church. Debbie was a loving wife, mother, daughter and sister who brightened the lives of us all. Her kindness touched everyone. We will miss her and we know she will always be with us in our hearts. She is survived by her husband, Joel; son, Adam; daughter, Amanda; parents, Milt and Chris Johnson of San Angelo; sister, Donna Palmer and husband, Steve and their children, Catherine and Clay of San Angelo; grandmother, Barbara Huggins of Nottingham, England; parents- in-law, Tommy and Lavonne Johnson of Midland, Texas: brothers- in-law; Jeff Johnson and wife, Elizabeth and their daughter, Nicole; and Jody Johnson and wife, Bonnie and their son, Cole; and grandparents- in-law, Charles and Mildred Lee. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Helmer, Dr. Moreledge, Dr. Silverthorn and the staff of VistaCare Hospice for their kindness toward and care of Debbie. They would also like to thank all of the wonderful friends and neighbors who loved Debbie and were with her throughout her illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 21, 2005, at Westlake Hills Presbyterian Church, 7127 Bee Cave Road, Austin, Texas with Reverend Clint Regen officiating. Interment will follow services at Austin Memorial Park. The family would appreciate memorial contributions in Debbie's name to Westlake Hills Presbyterian Church; Wonders and Worries, 923 Westbank Drive, Austin, TX 78746; For the Love of Christi, 2306 Hancock Drive, Austin, TX 78756; Lance Armstrong Foundation, 1221 S. Mopac Expressway, Austin, TX 78746; a hospice facility of your choice or the charity of your choice.
