Sibylle Grittmann, 66, of St. Augustine, died on July 26, 2009, at her daughter's residence, surrounded by her family. She was born in Heidelberg, Germany, and was a longtime resident of Leesburg, Va., before moving to Panama five years ago. Ms. Grittmann attended Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, Texas, and later graduated from F.I.T. in Melbourne, Fla., with a degree in aerospace engineering. She worked for many years in the aerospace industry for Motorola, Inc. and Boeing Corp. in Leesburg, retiring five years ago to pursue interest abroad. She was a member of the International Space Association and supported numerous philanthropic causes in Africa and South and Central America.
She is survived by daughters, Michelle Ratkovic of St. Augustine, Andrea Ratkovic of Norman, Okla.; her companion, Milton Roldan of Panama; and a grandson, Brandon Ratkovic.
Contributions in her memory can be made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
St. Johns Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
