Rev. Gary Allen Shapley

The Rev. Gary A. Shapley STEINHATCHEE - The Rev. Gary Allen Shapley, 55, died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2003, as a result of a trucking accident. He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Shapley. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. EDT Saturday at the Steinhatchee United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Chuck Weaver, Brother Wilford Harris and the Rev. Earl Prevatt officiating. Rick Gooding Funeral Home in Cross City (352-498-5400) is handling arrangements. Mr. Shapley moved from New York to Florida in 1970. He moved from Lake Butler to Steinhatchee in October 1994. He was the pastor of Steinhatchee United Methodist Church and a driver for Ware Oil & Supply Co. in Perry. Other survivors include his mother, Mary Shapley of Oneonta, N.Y.; a son, Allen Shapley of Oneonta; four daughters, Nona Shapley of Oneonta, Donna Owen of Bainbridge, Ga., Tonya Allen of Three Mile Bay, N.Y., and Brittany VonLangen of Jena; two sisters, Kathy Rotundo of Amsterdam, N.Y., and Tammy Ruckhaber of Oneonta; and a grandchild.
