Michael and I want to take a few moments to express our sympathy at your tragic loss. We only learned of Libby's death, when a friend of Lauren's phoned us to inform us of your loss. We deepest sympathies, the Meksraitis Family.

My sincerest condolences to Don, Kate and Andrew. Though I first met Libby when you lived briefly in Memphis and she and I both worked downtown, I was especially glad to know her back in the days when we were all new to the Tampa area. She was so friendly and hospitable. As I got to know her better, I saw a truly sensitive and endearing person. Though very tenderhearted, she was not shy and would not hesitate to speak up fiercely in someone else's behalf or to advocate a cause she truly believed in. She was always a strong supporter of the new urbanism and I think she thought of me as the "transportation enemy". But her zeal for causes never seemed to affect her friendships and caring for people who might not have the same views. Overall I will always remember how much she loved and doted on you all. I also felt that she would do anything for me if I needed her to. Her legacy will be in how we all carry forward in our lives, the good things she did in hers.
