Roscoe Mitchell

MITCHELL, Roscoe 67, born in Climax, GA, passed Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2007, at the Bayfront Medical Center. Roscoe moved to St. Petersburg from Philadelphia 8 years ago. He was a licensed barber for 46 years; 2 years in Georgia; 35 years in Philadelphia; and 8 years in St. Petersburg, where he worked at the Sports Cuts Barber Shop on 18 Ave. S. Roscoe was educated in the public schools of Decatur County, GA, where he graduated from Attapulgus Mount Moriah High School. After graduation, he attended barber school at Florida A&M University. He leaves to cherish fond memories; his wife, Janet Mitchell; one daughter, Renarda Campbell (Colin), of Upper Marlboro, MD; and one son, Darron Mitchell (Sonya), of Philadelphia; two grandchildren, Darron Jr., and Colin Jr.; two sisters, Ruth Stange, and Jeanette Mitchell, both of Miami; two brothers, John Mitchell (Julia), of Philadelphia, and Thomas Mitchell (Eva), of Tampa; mother-in-law, Daisy Evans, of Climax; one brother-in-law, howard Evans, of Climax; three aunts, Electra Cone, of Fort Lauderdale, Eunice Corker, of Whig-ham, GA, and Rosebud Corker, of Bain-bridge, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, and loving friends. Service Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007, 11 am, Greater Mt. Zion A.M.E. Rev. Clarence Williams, pastor officiating. Visitation Friday 3-8 pm. Interment Sunnyside Cemetery. Cortege: 625 29th Ave. S.
