Nicholas Cole "Nick" Twining

2001 - 2022

Nicholas (Nick) Cole Twining, age 20, passed away on February 16, 2022, in Coppell, TX. He was a loving and devoted son and brother. Nick was born on March 12, 2001, in Irving, TX, to John and Melissa Twining. Nick graduated from New Tech High in Coppell in 2019 and was a student at the University of Oklahoma. Nick was on track to graduate in May 2023 with a business degree. He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Parish of Coppell. Nick always had us laughing with his great sense of humor. He was kind and smart. He loved spending time with his family, including their dog, Copper, who was often by his side. Together, they shared a passion for sports including cheering on their beloved Sooners. Nick was fascinated by cars and closely followed Formula 1 Racing, an interest he shared with his sister, Sara. He had such an interest in space exploration and closely followed the SpaceX missions. Nick enjoyed playing video games. When his grandparents were alive, he loved visiting them in Oklahoma, where they would take him camping, fishing, riding four wheelers, and simply enjoying the outdoors. He also enjoyed ski trips in Colorado with his grandparents John and Lynn. Nick had a keen interest in researching the stock market and gaining experience in investing - especially TESLA. Nick was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jerry and Erma Deupree of Antlers. His family includes parents, John and Melissa Twining and sister, Sara Twining of Coppell and grandparents, John, and Lynn Twining of Southlake. Nick has extended family in Texas and Oklahoma. Services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 21, at Serenity Funeral Home in Antlers with Father Kevin Wilwert officiating. Graveside services followed at Antlers City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Will Hanrahan, Garrett Hanrahan, Colin Myers, Mike Myers, Pat Gardner, and Reece Gardner. The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider supporting Active Minds, a national nonprofit organization supporting mental health awareness and education for young adults. Services are under the direction of Serenity Funeral Service in Antlers, Oklahoma.
