1964 - 2023
Sandra "Sandy" Gail Duncan-Reese, 58, of Conway, Arkansas, went to be the Lord on March 10, 2023. Sandy was born on March 23, 1964, to Freed and Gail Duncan in Wynne, Arkansas. After Sandy graduated from Conway High School in 1982, she completed a Bachelor's in Education at University of Arkansas and a Master's in Counseling at University of Central Arkansas. Sandy was a middle school teacher before becoming a junior high school counselor. She retired with over 30 years of service to Arkansas Public Schools.
Outside of school, Sandy was very involved in church, including teaching Sunday school for more than a decade and traveling for numerous mission trips. She loved music and attended Cornerstone Festival, a Christian rock festival in Bushnell, Illinois, for many years with her daughter and friends. Sandy received her most-valued promotion on Dec. 14, 2017, and May 11, 2021, when she became Nana to Drake and Archer Parks. She had the most compassionate heart. She loved people from all walks of life and would give anyone the shirt off her back. Sandy was loud and proud with an infectious laugh. Her smile and sense of humor would light up any room. Everyone that knew Sandy knew she was also an animal-lover, especially Boxer dogs. She was known to take in strays her entire life. Her dogs were her second children. Sandy will be missed by many and her memory will be cherished for years to come.
Sandy was predeceased by her parents, Freed and Gail Duncan; her niece, Lauren Dunn; and her nephew, Clayton Otwell. She is survived by husband, Chris Reese; daughter, Mollie Parks [Jacob]; stepson, Trent Reese; grandsons, Drake Parks and Archer Parks; sister, Danette Dunn [Craig]; brothers, Ted Duncan [Dayna] and Mitch Duncan [Lori]; nephews, Britton Dunn, Jordan Dunn, Alex Dunn, Corbin Otwell, Tyler Duncan, Sam Duncan and a whole slew of extended family and adopted friends and family.
Visitation will be held at Roller McNutt on Monday, March 13 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral will be held at OneChurch on Tuesday, March 14 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to OneChurch, Arkanpaws Animal Rescue, or Haven Conway.
