Dear Dad and Pat,
I want to thank you for the gift you gave me in your son and my brother Barrett. He was the BEST. I loved him dearly and will so miss his quick wit, his warm hugs, and the little peck he would always place on my cheek. He was the type of person you could never get tired of being around and I so admired him. I so wish I could see him again and visit and let him know how much he meant to me. Thank you for being so strong. I love you - Stephanie

Dear Blackwell Family, I have many great memories of Barrett. He was always his own person and never one to follow the crowd.
Although he was much better than me in tennis he took his time to teach me. We also shared a love for music. I will never forget his style of humor and his laugh. No words can tell you how sorry I am for your loss. My families thoughts and prayers will be with yall.

Peace to my friend Barrett and his family. I grew up with Barrett. He was a very smart guy. Very smart. A fond memory that I have discussed a couple times over the past day was in our 8th or 9th grade English class when the teacher asked him to read "The Charge of the Light Brigade" by Alfred Lord Tennyson. He read it to the class with great joy and intensity. It left an impression on me some 25 years later. "Cannon to left of them! Cannon to right of them! Cannon in front of them!" He gave that poem genuine and appropriate feeling in front of our high school English class. Love you, Barrett. How special you were to many. Peace be with you, my old friend, and peace be with your family.

I worked with Barrett when he was with RSD2. He was housed in my school- so I got to know him. He was so funny- and basically you would start laughing when he opened his mouth. We discussed Angry Bird strategies- and I gave him a T-shirt that depicted the Angry Bird I saw him as. I thought the world of him, and I am so sorry for your loss.

Steve and Pat, I am so glad that Trudie, Aaron, and Aaron's fiance Maggie are able to be there to be with you. I so wish I could be as well, but Justin just doesn't accommodate travel. Know that I'm there in spirit, and I want you to know how much I love and appreciate you. Love, your brother-in-law, Dan.
