Ronnie Thompkins CAMDEN - A graveside service to celebrate the life of Walter Ronald "Ronnie" Thompkins, 67, of Camden, SC, will be held at noon Friday, November 25, 2016, in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Rev. Joe Stines will officiate. The family will receive friends at 10:30 a.m., 1 1/2 hours prior to the service at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel. Ronnie, husband of Donna Hall Thompkins, died Monday, November 21, 2016. He was born in Camden, SC, the son of the late Walter Harris Thompkins and Catherine Tolbert Thompkins. He retired as the Precision Metal Work instructor for ATEC after 28 years. Ronnie was also owner and operator of Thompkins Farm, former Cub Scout leader and volunteer for Camp Kemo. He was an avid outdoorsman who, restored antique tractors and loved riding motorcycles and horses. Besides his wife, Donna, Ronnie is survived by his son, Walt Thompkins (Kerry) of Camden; grandchildren, Rett and Hank Thompkins; special nephew, Chip Company (Pam); sisters, Miriam Thompkins Mays of Camden, and Sandra Thompkins Staton (Alec) of Surfside Beach, SC; and a niece and two nephews.
