Remembering Father Grimes on this anniversary of his passing. I was his alter girl while serving at Our Lady or Peace, he was at my first communion, confirmation and encouraged me to join the choir at OLP. You are truly missed.

Dear Father,

Father Grimes sheperd me into the Catholic faith ten years after I got
married. I feel lost without my shepherd
but I know I will be ok knowing I have been caultered by the best communicator of Life. He was my favorite priest and I will dearly miss him until I see him in heaven. Thank you Lord for leading me to one of your best Shepherds of Humanity.

Father, there are no words to describe what you meant to my family and I. You were there for my Dad when he passed away, and not a year later you were in the hospital visiting me every week. Msgr. Grimes touched countless numbers of lives. I am very glad to have been one of them. He was an educator, mentor, role model, counselor, leader, friend and gift to us all. He will truly be missed. Father, thank you for all that you have given to so many of us.

Monsignor Grimes has been an integral part of the Catholic school community for many years. The Bishop Hartley family would like to extend our deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Monsignor Grimes. His legacy will continue through all the people that he has touched over the years. My favorite memory of Msgr. Grimes was when he was a young asst. pastor at Our Lady of Peace and I was a Watterson high school student. It was a cold, snowy Saturday in January. He had said a wedding Mass and I had played the organ for it. Afterwards, I couldn't get my parents' car out of the parking lot because it was stuck in the snow. I went to the rectory and then-Father Grimes came out and helped me get the car out of the snow. He asked if I had been paid for playing for the wedding. When I said no, he handed me part of his Mass stipend. He was always a kind and generous priest.

There are too many great memories of Fr. Grimes to name just one...he was an integral part of my growing up from 1st grade onward. I know God has gladly welcomed him with open arms. Rest in Peace Father, we will miss you and we love you.

Father Grimes was so pivotal in the lives of our OLP students. The eighth graders were allowed to hang out with him after school and he was a true friend and spiritual counselor to our family.

FR. Ken has always had a special place in the hearts of the Kletzly family.
