Remembering Father Grimes on this anniversary of his passing. I was his alter girl while serving at Our Lady or Peace, he was at my first communion, confirmation and encouraged me to join the choir at OLP. You are truly missed.

My favorite memory of Msgr. Grimes was when he was a young asst. pastor at Our Lady of Peace and I was a Watterson high school student. It was a cold, snowy Saturday in January. He had said a wedding Mass and I had played the organ for it. Afterwards, I couldn't get my parents' car out of the parking lot because it was stuck in the snow. I went to the rectory and then-Father Grimes came out and helped me get the car out of the snow. He asked if I had been paid for playing for the wedding. When I said no, he handed me part of his Mass stipend. He was always a kind and generous priest.
May peace be with him,
