Claire Hayden Obituary

Hayden, Claire M. TROY Claire M. Hayden, 87, of Marshland Court passed peacefully on Thursday, December 10, 2015, at St. Peter's Hospital after a valiant battle with bladder cancer and Crohn's disease. Born in West Warwick, R.I. she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Regina Prevey Morin. Claire came to this area as a young girl and had resided in Waterford and Clifton Park before moving to Troy. She had been employed for 45 years at Lamar Advertising in Latham and retired in 2005 when she was 75 years young. She had also formerly worked for New York Telephone Company earlier in her career. Claire and her late husband were active in the Waterford and the Clifton Park Ambulance Services. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially eating home cooked meals by her "resident chef," as well as reading, crocheting, knitting, going to bingo and the Racino. She was also an avid puzzle and game enthusiast, loved watching home make over TV, crime/mystery shows, and was a faithful follower of the Young and the Restless soap opera. Claire was the widow of James Hayden who passed away in 1971. She is the loving mother of Kathleen Halligan (Thomas) of Havre de Grace, Md., Brian Hayden (Cheryl) of Lansingburgh, and the late Dianne Hayden Wisniewski and Mark Hayden. She is the sister of Albert Morin (Lorraine) of South Carolina; and proud grandmother of Scott Hickey (Kristine), Vanessa Bongiorno (Adriano), Nicole Hayden, Jamie Morales (Edgardo), Lisa Andrews (Jim) and Robert Nadeau. Claire adored her seven great-grandchildren, and is survived by several nieces and nephews and many dear friends and neighbors who were like family to her. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 14, at 8:45 a.m. at the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte. 32), Waterford, and at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Church in Troy. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Waterford. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 5-8 p.m. Those who wish may make memorial contributions in Claire's name to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation or the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society in care of the funeral home office. Special thanks are extended to the staff at SPHP, AMC, Van Rensselaer Manor, Eddy VNA, Landmark, and her longtime doctors and staff of Joseph Farooq, Joseph Choma and Michael Marmulstein. Brian and Claire,
I'm so sorry for your loss and extremely sorry I was not at the wake. I was driving down I90 today and saw the Lamar signs. That's how I found out!
Your mom was always one of Tom's favorite people. Now he'll be seeing her again.
