LTC Porter was a great man and instructor, he had a big influence in my decision to join the U.S. Army my Sr. Year of high school. I don't think that my 20 year Army career would've as successful if I wasn't in JROTC program that he led so many years.
My thoughts and prayers goes out to his family.

Col. Porter was a strong influence in my life and the primary reason for my decision to attend our Alma Mater Florida A&M University. He exemplified excellence and giving back to the community.
