Stanley Nowakowski Obituary

Stanley R. Nowakowski, age 75, on Tuesday, July 2, 2002. He was a retired machinist with Westinghouse Electric, where he was employed for more than 40 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served during World War II. Member of VFW Post 5008 in East Pittsburgh. Stan was an officer of the Slavonic Social Club in Braddock for many years and a charter member of Braddock District Sportsman's Association. He was also an usher at Good Shepherd Church for many years. Husband of the late Dolores (Wargo) Nowakowski; father of Michael and Thomas of North Versailles; Joseph and his wife Janice of Forest Hills, Mark and his wife Hope of Greensburg and Paul his wife Diane of Cincinnati. Brother of Josephine Papula of Braddock Hills, Philip of Greensburg and Albert of North Versailles. Grandfather of Evan, Eric, Kimberly, Timothy, Matthew and Brooke Nowakowski. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at the PATRICK T. LANIGAN FUNERAL HOME, 700 Linden Ave., East Pittsburgh, 412-824-8800, www.laniganfuneralhome.com. Mass of Christian Burial in Good Shepherd Church at 9:30 a.m. Friday.
