I just found out recently about the passing of Dr. Moore. I used to take my birds to him because he took such great care of them and sometimes didn“t charge me for his service. He was such a kind knowledgeable and funny doctor who you could tell that veterinary medicine was his calling. He showed so much compassion with my birds. He will be missed dearly. Rest easy Dr. Moore and thank you for taking such great care of my birds.

I was so sad that I had not known of his passing until about a month later. To this day I remember him nearly every day. He taught me so much. He taught me dignity, empathy, compassion, about quality of life, about holding your loved ones close and about letting them go. I will miss him forever.

My sincerest belated condolences to the entire Moore family. I learned of Dr. Moore's passing today when I mentioned one of
Dr. Moore's acts of kindness to a fellow Veterinarian.

Dr. Moore took wonderful care of all of my exotic pets (Parrots and a Tortoise) as well as some of my Feral Cats. My first Parrot became quite ill shortly after I adopted her. Dr. Gerson my Vet at the time (who worked for Dr. Moore when he graduated Vet School) recommended that I take Angel to his mentor. Dr. Moore spent close to two hours carefully diagnosing Angel's problems performing many tests right in the office. I could not believe how inexpensive my bill was that day. Dr. Moore saved Angel's life. She is still alive today.

Dr. Moore had me bring Angel back weekly for two months for check ups. He charged me nothing for these visits. Several years later he repaired my daughter's Bobwhite's broken leg and again did the follow up care for weeks at no charge.

I quickly learned that my very low charges for Angel's care were not unusual. Dr. Moore told me many times that he wanted to see most exotic pets several times a year so that they could have the most pleasant life possible. He recognized that many people who owned Exotics could not afford this care. Dr. Moore's answer to this problem was to charge his Exotic pet customers absurdly low prices. Dr. Moore essentially donated his care to these animals along with helping many other customers that could not afford the care for their beloved animals.

Dr. Moore and I became close friends over the years. Dr. Moore recounted many unique stories about his care for shelter and wild animals that were injured or ill. I learned a great deal from him about many aspects of life outside of Veterinary care. I am thankful to have spent time with the Patron Saint of all the animals that were under Dr. Moore's care.

We had a cat. I was 14. It had an injured paw that became infected. Dr. Moore cleaned and dressed the wound. I went into the lobby and was crying because the cat was meowing in complaint. When he finished, Dr Moore came out to the lobby, put his arm around me to comfort me, and told me that my father was going to need my help in giving the cat his antibiotics, so could I come back in so he could show us both how to do this? Dr. Moore treated the cat, but also comforted and cared for me and made me feel important. During the next 42 years he provided all of the medical care for our 6 dogs, 3 birds, rabbit, Guinea pig, hamster and iguana. The first dog that my husband and I had together lived to 15 years. My husband never had to make the decision to put a dog down before, and was asking Dr. Moore if there wasn't something more that we could do for her. Dr. Moore told my husband that she would no longer be a pet, but a patient. That she would suffer. Dr. Moore found the words to comfort my husband and made it ok to help our beloved Pepper cross that rainbow bridge.

Dr. Moore was one of a kind. No one was more compassionate. He treated the animals, but he also educated, comforted and provided solace to the owners. I was grateful that our most recent puppy received her first puppy shots from Dr, Moore. During his retirement party it was evident how many human lives he enriched.

We sent each other Christmas cards after he retired. I was hoping that we would be able to send each other cards or many years. The world is much poorer without Dr. Moore. However his family is a great legacy.

I am so deeply sorry to learn of Dr. Moore's passing. He was the best Vet and the kindest man. I will always remember when one of my permanent fosters needed to be let go on a Super Bowl Sunday, even though he and his wife had plans, they both came into the office that evening so my fellow did not have to suffer. He will be sorely missed. Thinking of his entire family at such a sad time.

To the Moore Family,
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Dr. Moore. I went to him for 46 years with all of my pet families! He was a wonderful and caring vet of animals! When I had to put my Shih Tzu down after 21 years of her life in 2013 I cried and Dr. Moore said she was in a better place now with his wife. Now he can watch over all of our pets until we see them again. I loved his manner and stories. I still haven't found a Dr. like him. He was the best and a great person to know. Rest In Peace Dr. Moore.

I am so sorry and heartbroken to hear of the passing of Dr. Moore. What a wonderful man he was. He went above and beyond for my furry friends and I will never forget that. He helped me with my Lhasa Apso who had a lot of health problems. Without him I would have never gotten almost 16 years with my beloved dog. And he would always tell me how beautiful he was and how much he liked him. God Bless you Dr. Moore and God Bless your family. Thank you

When I got my first cat, we went to see Dr Moore. That was in 1972. Over the years he took care of my many pets. I was there the day a goose came from Zelienople for him to treat. I was also there to see a parrot and a gila monster in his waiting room at the same time. Now I've heard of his passing and couldn't be sorrier for your loss. He was such a good man & excellent veterinarian. He had many 2-legged, and 4-legged, friends and will be missed by all.

We are so sorry to hear about the passing of your Dad. He was a true friend & great boss to me through the 19 years I worked for him. He just told us in his Christmas letter to us how he loved being retired. I'm sad to think how short his retirement was since he was planning to do so much more. To the whole family of Tom Moore's, we will keep you in our prayers, to give you the strength you need to get through this ordeal. Again, so sorry about your Dad's passing. He will be missed by many.
