Albert HAIDER Obituary

August 30, 1950 - March 24, 2017 Age 66, passed away peacefully at his home in Inver Grove Heights surrounded by family after a battle with leukemia. He will be deeply missed by beloved wife Ginny (Moravec); sons Steve (Theresa), Chris (Christine), Greg (Sarah); treasured grandchildren Will, Maddie, Sammy, Mikey, Jake, Max, Cooper, Nathan, Reese; and his three sisters, Bette (Don) Pilger, Karen (Jim) Winters, and Mary Jo (Craig) Brownell. Preceded in death by parents, Albert & Marion, and grandson, Nicholas. Al grew up and raised his family in Highland Park, St. Paul. He was a familiar figure around town, especially on the ballfields with his kids and grandkids. Al was most happy at home enjoying the company of his family and friends. He made all feel welcomed with his warm smile, great sense of humor, and fully-stocked bar. He loved spending time with Ginny and the kids, attending the grandkids' activities, fishing, golfing, planning haunted houses, Easter egg hunts, themed birthday parties, and the annual family vacation to the lake. Al is already missed beyond measure and will never be forgotten. Special thanks to Dr. Erica Warlick and the amazing caregivers at the University of Minnesota Blood and Marrow Transplant Clinic and hospital. Visitation Tuesday, March 28, from 4:00-7:00pm at O'Halloran & Murphy (575 Snelling Ave, St. Paul). Funeral service Wednesday, March 29, 10:00am at Lumen Christi Catholic Church (2055 Bohland Ave, St. Paul), visitation prior to service from 9:00 to 10:00am. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. 651-698-0796

Haider Family,

My brother Joe wrote me this morning to let me know about Al's passing. I have many fond memories of him. He was a great baseball coach (left, right, shuffle, shuffle) that always had a good sense of humor and positive energy about him. I am sorry for your loss and am sending thoughts and prayers to Minnesota.

Many delightful memories of grade school with Al & Ginny at long-gone St. Therese, Halloween treks through the neighborhood with a small army of us kids, and four great years at Cretin. It's been many years, but the memories remain, and I share your loss of a good man.

We are so very sorry for your loss! Simply hearing Al's name brings back so many wonderful memories of him, and of those days gone by when the kids were growing up in Highland! We hope, during these difficult days, that you two are filled with many memories that make you smile & may you each be surrounded by much love.
