Raymond Martineau Obituary

aymond Martineau, 81, of Bedford, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2015 at the Hillsborough County Nursing Home, Goffstown, surrounded by his loving family following a lengthy illness.

Born in Auburn, Ray was the son of the late Amedee and Bertha Martineau. Raised and educated in Auburn, he met and married the love of this life, the former Priscilla Cayer. Ray and Priscilla settled in Manchester to raise their beautiful family. Ray tirelessly provided for his growing family. He had been employed for several decades as a tire salesman at Firestone/GCR Tire until his retirement in 2008.

An honorably discharged veteran, Raymond proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army and National Guard for over 25 years.

A dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Ray was the pillar of strength for his family. He cherished time spent with his children and grandchildren. Throughout the years, Ray enjoyed camping and fishing and often recalled fond memories of fishing with his children. A kind and friendly man, Ray knew a familiar face everywhere he went. Ray will be best remembered for his generous heart and love of family.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Priscilla Martineau, with whom he shared nearly 59 years of marriage; three daughters, Denise McCalvey of Goffstown, Michele Wilson and husband Bruce of Auburn, and Melissa Manley and husband Joseph of Abington, MA; one son, Scott Martineau and wife Joy of Pembroke; six grandchildren, Lindsay Wilson, Jillian McCalvey, Ryan Martineau, Joshua Martineau, Acadia Manley, and Skye Manley; two brothers, Francis "Pete" Martineau and Donald Martineau; several nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his two brothers, Roland Martineau and Rene Martineau; and sister, Irene Krunkleton.

ARRANGEMENTS: His Memorial Gathering will be held in the Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover St., Manchester, on Monday, October 16, from 11:00A.M. to 12:00P.M. with a Memorial Service at 12:00P.M.
