What a wonderful person Debbie was in each iteraction I had with her at family events mostly in Santa Fe New Mexico when she was visiting her Grandma-in-law, "Ida". Debbie was kind, gentle and loving to everyone she interacted with. She also paid a special interest to whoever she was talking with which always made me feel special. I am sad to hear of her passing and that her special and beautiful life was cut short. May her memory always be a blessing to all those who loved Debbie.

Attorney Debbie Johnston was a fine representative of our bar and a gracious person. We here extend our condolences to her family - in particular her husband Bruce Marcus. It is ironic that I last saw her at the farewell to another exemplar of our legal fraternity, Judge Chasanow. May her soul rest in peace.

At Debbie's celebration of life today I kept thinking of the poem "The Dash" by Linda Ellis. I am sure that she would be proud of the things that were said today about how she spent her "dash"--- her life. There is no doubt that Debbie lived her life exactly how she wanted- public service, loving family and friends, strong faith and amazing travels. She lived life to the fullest. I will miss her.

I always remember Debbie as a mentor to me when I was a young prosecutor in Prince George's County. She brought poise and dignity to every case that she tried. I credit her with teaching me that, and I like to think of her as I mentor young prosecutors today. She will be missed.

My deepest condolences to the family. I know by the way she always spoke of you that she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. You know the beautiful person she was. What you may not know is the legacy she is and always will be among the law enforcement community. Debbie has been a pillar in the justice system and has taught so much to decades of investigators. Debbie was always polished, always professional, but the fiercest prosecutor the USAO has ever seen. I'm so proud to have known her, learned from her, and most of all, to have called her my friend. She will be missed.
